Instructions to Change Worldpay URL (2)
Action Required:
Important Service Update
On Tuesday, April 19, 2016, Microsoft will release an operating system security update to mitigate potential cyber-attacks on Microsoft operating systems. This update will also disable the Verisign G1 trusted root certificate on which Worldpay’s private SHA-1 certificate is based.
Merchants using Windows 10 on their point of sale system (POS) will experience an interruption in processing service once the update takes place if action is not taken.
Required actions for POS systems using Windows 10
To avoid service interruption your POS must be updated to Worldpay’s new URL before the
April 19th deadline: https://api.lynksystems.com
We strongly recommend making this change by Friday, April 15th to allow enough time to verify the
update is successful. If you have questions about how to update your POS system, please contact your
POS provider for support.
Recommended action for POS systems using an older version of Windows
We also recommend that merchants who are using older Windows operating systems update to the
new URL as well, since Microsoft will eventually disable all SHA-1 connectivity by the end of 2016.
We appreciate your business and we’re here to assist you in any way concerning this matter. If you have
any questions, please contact your Worldpay representative.
