Bluefin Credit Card Machine Troubleshooting

Blue Credit Card Machines operate using an IP address that connects to your PC and into Salon Touch. There are a few error messages you can get while using a Bluefin machine, here are some of the most common ones followed by troubleshooting steps to take.


ISSUE: Device returns this picture when running through transaction on SalonTouch. DaaS Failure – (1203) Device is not active

 

SOLUTION: The Credit Card Device Was Not Activated Successfully, Follow these steps

  1. Go to BlueFinP2PE Manager Login
  2. Enter in your BlueFin login credentials.
  3. If you do not have your login information, go to this site. https://www.bluefin.com/contact/
  4. After getting the login information, login to the site and activate the device.




ISSUE: POSLink Communication Error. (This means IP address on device doesn't match in SalonTouch)




SOLUTION: The first step before continuing is to Restart the BlueFin Device and Computer at the same time and try the transaction again. If that does not work, verify which device model you have and follow the steps below...


PAX A80 Device:

  1. On the BlueFin device, Go To "Settings"
  2. Enter the Password "9876"
  3. Click on the WiFi Icon of the current network
  4. Click on the 3 dots at the top right
  5. Select "Advanced"
  6. This Screen will display the devices IP address that should be in SalonTouch.
  7. Verify that the IP type is "Static"
  8. Write down the IP Address from the device and open SalonTouch
  9. At the top, Select "Setup"
  10. Select "Credit Card Processing" on the left
  11. Enter in the IP Address to "Dest IP" and Click "Save"
  12. Restart SalonTouch and test

PAX S300 Device:

  1. On the BlueFin Device, Press the "FUNC" button & "1" button at the same time.
  2. Enter password which is always the current date entered as MMDDYYYY.
  3. Scroll down to "Communication".
  4. Enter password which is always the current date entered as MMDDYYYY.
  5. Scroll down to "LAN Paramters".
  6. Scroll down to "LAN Type" and Select "Static"
  7. Go back one page and now Select "IP Address"
  8. Write down the IP Address and open SalonTouch
  9. At the top, Select "Setup"
  10. Select "Credit Card Processing" on the left
  11. Enter in the IP Address to "Dest IP" and Click "Save"
  12. Restart SalonTouch and test (use example picture from above)
